Abstract

This study aims to analyze social finance instruments in Islam that can used to finance Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) number two, namely zero hunger. This research uses secondary data in the form of literature that combines valid and credible data from international journals and reports of various trusted world institutions, as well as research results from institutions that have authority as the main waqf management institution in Indonesia, namely Badan Wakaf Indonesia (BWI) or Waqf Core Principles. The result of the analysis is a model that can be used as a reference for ending hunger in Indonesia. The chosen Islamic finance instruments are land waqf and cash waqf. The recommendation model of this research is the utilization of waqf land that was originally only used for social and educational purposes into sustainable agricultural land in an effort to realize food security. In addition, cash waqf is also proposed to build food bank that is utilized as a food barn to end hunger and improve community nutrition. Several recommendations are given to the government and Nazhir to map waqf land used as agricultural land, map hunger enclaves, and commit to the sustainability of the food bank.
